IMPRESSIONS PLASTIQUES

The work is a result of my long term interest in maritime plastic waste. I’ve gathered bags, rope, odd bits of filaments and microplastic debr is drifted ashore on the Harakka Island in Helsinki.

The installation consists of two tapestries (110x90 cm) entitled Soleil levant and Soleil couchant woven out of discarded plastic bags. Between the two rugs hanging from the ceiling lays a 7 m long colourful sun path Aurora Nonelis. arranged in a rainbow line on the floor.

In addition to the rugs and the sunpath, the work includes Plastic Horizon, a linear sculpture put together of microplastics.
