Wavescreen

Wave screen makes wave patterns visible. This simple instrument consists of a translucent screen and a black box which works as a shade. The box is placed on an easel close to the water surface and directed towards the sun. When the sun shines, waves act as lenses gathering and reflecting light into changing linear patterns on the screen. I photographed these patterns as still images and recorded the movement on video.
