BETWEEN THE EYES: Body Schemes

The installation allowed the spectator to fathom altered sensations of depth through peeping into the viewing devices.

The implications of the fixed, approximately 5 cm distance between our two eyes (determined by the very constitution of the human body), became manifest in an embodied experience.

In displaying a series of different stereoscopic effects, the work strived to visually unfurl some of the implicit premises of the human perceptual apparatus, that is the corporeal, cognitive, and epistemic determinants of binocular vision.
