Water Colour Scope

I designed a simple instrument made of a clear acrylic box with a small digital camera inside. It captures simultaneous views under and over the water surface. This split imaging technique reveals the colour of the waterscape under surface. A brownish shade of the water indicates the amount of humus or the dissolved organic matter.
